One of the things I love most about filming weddings is interacting with not only the bride and groom, but with the wedding party and other vendors on set. Betsey & Brian had one of the most enjoyable wedding party’s I have worked with in a long time (it helped that two of the couples in their wedding party we had filmed weddings for in years past). The vendor team was an all star cast as well and we made sure to have some fun!
We started off the day at Betsey’s parents house in Albany, where Alayne Curtiss and her team from Make Me Fabulous turned their family room (and dining room) into a hair and makeup solon. Within a few short hours everyone did indeed look fabulous. Leah and Matt Bailly (Bailly Photography) joined the crew as well and we had a great time with our usual playful banter.
After the first look we went to First Lutheran Church in Albany which was all lit up for Christmas with tress and garlands throughout the sanctuary. After the ceremony we were able to take the trolley over to Albany’s Washington Park for Holiday Lights in the Park. We got some great shots with the entire wedding party under the main entrance before it opened; there was a line of cars 15 deep that all watched as the bride and groom danced in the street!
Betsey & Brian’s reception was at Wolferts Roost Country Club which was decked to the nines in Christmas decore. DJ Vinny from Cool Cat Entertainment rocked the party well into the night and we even had a special guest appearance from PSY doing his much loved Gangnam Style dance (Betsey & Brian have amazing friends)!
This was a fantastic holiday wedding for sure!
