While the bride attended to every facet of their up and coming wedding, the groom had one mission and that was to find the best wedding videographer he could find!
Megan and Eric were married in Lake George, New York this past summer and it all came together with smiles, love and lots of dancing. Eric said Megan did about 90 percent of the wedding planning, while his job was to select a videographer and photographer. “It was a big deal to find people we were comfortable working with who would also do a great job.”
Was It Difficult To Find a Videographer?
“I thought I had found our videographer, I thought I was all set. Then, I found Bigler Productions and I saw video could be taken to a whole new level” Eric said he had talked to several friends and family regarding photographers and videographers and found many of them were talented and produced quality work. “I just didn’t feel comfortable for some reason, I worried about how the videographer I had chosen would interact with us and our guests on the day of the wedding.” Those worries came to an end when Eric met with the Bigler Productions team. “Meeting with Bigler was awesome. His team was fun, and had lots of ideas, I don’t know how they came up with some of the fun stuff we ended up doing!”
Eric said the location of the studio In Saratoga was a key element because both he and Megan desired to put together a DVD invitation (find out more about this fun, award winning video). “The wedding invite was filmed on several different shoots across a few months, so to get all of the footage we really needed a convenient location.”
What was the Interaction Like on the Wedding Day?
Eric and Megan were thrilled with how easily their wedding day came together.
“The video crew was flawless,” Eric explained, “They worked extremely well with the photographer, they produced multiple angles, everyone was doing something, but you barely noticed they were there at all.”
Why Hire a Videographer?
“I’m sure it’s the number one answer, but you don’t know what happens at your wedding.” Eric said he and Megan missed the children’s dance competition that unfolded during the reception, but they have been able to watch it over and over again with their nieces and nephews. “They were the stars of the dance off and honestly, the reception was such a blur, I am glad we were able to see that and the kids treat it like a disney movie, they watch repeatedly.”
Was there anything about the video that surprised you?
“There were pleasant surprises through the whole DVD, the video is amazing. We were just blown away by the entire thing and impressed by the serious special effects,” Eric explained.
Eric said he agrees that a picture is worth a thousand words, but “video is worth a million words.” The newlyweds loved their pictures, but they were enchanted with the experience of watching the video which is interwoven with the voices and sounds that a photograph is unable to capture.
One Last Thing
“The video crew were the most energetic, hard working, easy to work with group I could have ever imagined,” said Eric and he continued. “I can see photography and videography coming together in a way that you can’t just chose one. You have to do both.”
